MGIMO Arctic Student Research Club is launching registration for the Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council (MAC-2017)!
Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) cordially invites you to the Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council (MAC-2017).
MAC-2017 is to take place in Moscow, December 5-7, 2017. MAC-2017 is a simulative “business game”, which involves modelling the work of:
- Arctic Contaminants Action Program (ACAP) Working Group;
- Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program (AMAP) Working Group;
- Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) Working Group;
- Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response (EPPR) Working Group;
- Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME) Working Group;
- Sustainable Development Working Group (SDWG);
- Arctic Economic Council;
- Senior Arctic Officials’ Meeting;
- Ministerial Meeting.
The event will also have a varied educational program, which includes lectures, seminars and workshops led by distinguished experts from Russia, as well as other Arctic States. At MAC-2017, you will also be able to meet Vladimir Barbin, Ambassador at Large, Senior Arctic Official of the Russian Federation, representatives of businesses, members of Russian polar expeditions and many other politicians, experts and scientists.
We encourage all interested citizens of the Arctic States and representatives of the Arctic indigenous peoples in the age of 18-35 to apply for participation in MAC-2017 now!

Please fill in the Google application form (https://goo.gl/forms/jZHRheQwI7BkIZ143) as well. Please mind that submission of both hand-written and electronic application forms is compulsory. The results of the acceptance contest and all further information will be sent to you back not later than October 31.
Should you be an applicant from Moscow (Russia), please fill in the electronic application form only.
Terms of participation:
While you are in Moscow, all the costs related to your participation at the Moscow Youth International Arctic Council Model (MAC-2017) will be covered. This includes accommodation, local transportation, and meals (lunches, coffee-breaks). However, you are responsible for obtaining funding to cover the cost of your transportation to and from Moscow, Russia.
We also will provide you with a special visa support (exclusively provided by institutions, which are a part of the system of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – MGIMO is the Ministry’s basic University).
Participants are accepted on competitive basis by the MGIMO Arctic Student Research Club Academic Adviser.
